Ambassadors Club

This club helps to market the Warrior pride. To become an ambassador of CCHS means helping the general public to understand all of the good things that happen between the walls of CCHS. We will recruit prospective students, prepare the hallways for Open House, develop marketing materials, and come up with creative ways to showcase our school.

Chinese Tea Club

Open to all students in all grades and faculty. You do not have to take the Chinese language course to join this club. You may come as often as you have availability.
Every other Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 110. Begins on October 3, 2012. For more information, contact the moderator.
Want to learn more about Chinese culture? Come to the Chinese Tea Club! We will drink tea, learn about Chinese culture, discuss history and events, learn to play Chinese games, make Chinese food, watch Chinese movies, sing songs/listen to music, and learn to speak some Chinese.

Dance Club

Auditions are held in the beginning of the school year (September); previous dance experience preferred.
Practices are held every Friday (2:30p.m. to 3:30p.m.) in the theater. Additional practices may be scheduled before a rally or an event.
To improve technique, in primarily jazz dance, and to perform in some of the school sponsored events. 
Fall Drama Club

Membership in the cast is by audition in September. Listen for announcements. Stage crew is on a volunteer basis
Rehearsals take place after school from September into November, usually 3 or 4 days per week from 2:20 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with more frequent practices as needed in final weeks before the production.
The drama program presents a play each November, ranging from a classical tragedy to contemporary comedy. 
Figure Skating Club

The purpose of the CCFSC is to give the school’s figure skaters an opportunity to skate together, practice their skills and compete as a team in regional high school competitions. We promote athletic prowess and teamwork.
Food Pantry

This school sponsored and student led outreach effort offers consistent support to Taunton families (approximately 300 per month) experiencing food insecurity and or hunger while at the same time making our school’s motto “Enter to Learn-Leave to Serve” a reality.

Language Honor Societies

French, Portuguese, and Spanish-The student must be in grade 10 or higher and must be enrolled in the honors level of the respective language with an A- average in the language.  The average will be determined by the previous year’s final grade and the first two terms of the current year.  Induction into the societies is held in the Spring. See Handbook to review rules for maintaining membership.

Mock Trial Team

To learn the court process and enter a team into the Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the Mass Bar Association. We will engage in at least three trials beginning in January at court houses nearby schools. There will be several after school scrimmages prior to the trials.
National Honor Society

New England Math League

The NEML sponsors six contests each year.  The exam takes 30 minutes.  A follow-up session will be offered to review the exams for any student that is interested. This league offers challenging math problems to students of all levels.
Peer Ministry

Pep Band

To spread awareness about the sanctity of life and foster a culture of life within our school and society; we attempt to carry this out by studying and discussing life issues; catechizing friends; reaching out to those in need; courageously speaking out when the sanctity of life is attacked; and supporting those fighting for the cause of life. We support these issues through prayer culminating with the Washington, D.C. March for Life in January.
Robotics Club

Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (later during competition) in room 203. Contact moderator with questions.
To provide enrichment for students interested in computer programming, engineering, mechanics, driving remote controlled cars, or anyone who wants to build a robot. The club will have a chance to compete against other high schools in a robot competition at WPI. In addition to the competition, there will be other in-school events such as RoboSumo/Battle Bots and robot movie parties. Let the robot uprising begin!
Shakespeareans of CCHS

Specific dates and times TBA.  Meetings are optional, usually 3-4 days per week for 3 weeks before the competition. Students may attend all or some of the meetings after school, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year’s competition is Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.
This group exists to help students appreciate Shakespeare’s language and characters by learning and performing Shakespearean monologues and sonnets for a school competition in December. Winners in the school competition receive awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and from the English Speaking Union. The winner of the English Speaking Union Award represents the school in a state-wide competition held in January in Boston.
Spring Musical

Open to all students in all grades.  Principal roles are determined by audition. Auditions will be held January 7th, 8th, and 9th (2013).
Specific dates and times TBA.  Meeting dates are 3-4 days per week (after school) with more frequent and evening rehearsals closer to the production. The performances will be April 4th, 5th and 6th (2013) at 7:00 p.m.
This group exists to educate students in the many aspects of musical theater, culminating in performances in April.

Elected positions are by vote.  Any student wishing to run for an elected position must submit paperwork in the Spring.  Elections are in the spring for current students and in October for Freshmen.  The Student Council Board is comprised of elected leadership and class officers.  All students are welcome to help in the execution of any activity.  Contact Mrs. Boissonneau if you would like to volunteer.
