This club helps to market the Warrior pride. To become an ambassador of CCHS means helping the general public to understand all of the good things that happen between the walls of CCHS. We will recruit prospective students, prepare the hallways for Open House, develop marketing materials, and come up with creative ways to showcase our school.

This is an all women’s group that seeks to perform music of all styles at an advanced level.

Ms. Yang (Ext. 655)

Open to all students in all grades and faculty. You do not have to take the Chinese language course to join this club. You may come as often as you have availability.

Every other Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 110. Begins on October 3, 2012. For more information, contact the moderator.

Want to learn more about Chinese culture? Come to the Chinese Tea Club! We will drink tea, learn about Chinese culture, discuss history and events, learn to play Chinese games, make Chinese food, watch Chinese movies, sing songs/listen to music, and learn to speak some Chinese.

Mrs. Fougere (Ext. 661)

Auditions are held in the beginning of the school year (September); previous dance experience preferred.

Practices are held every Friday (2:30p.m. to 3:30p.m.) in the theater. Additional practices may be scheduled before a rally or an event.

To improve technique, in primarily jazz dance, and to perform in some of the school sponsored events. 

Mrs. Willis (Ext. 635)

Students must hold membership in the United States Figure Skating Association and must be active students within their own individual clubs. This club will not run for the 2012-2013 school year. Interest will be solicited for the 2013-2014 school in the spring.

The purpose of the CCFSC is to give the school’s figure skaters an opportunity to skate together, practice their skills and compete as a team in regional high school competitions. We promote athletic prowess and teamwork.

Mrs. Pavao (Ext. 656)

Open to any student interested in health issues and has the motivation to assist with positive health initiatives that may impact all members of our CCHS community.

French - Mrs. Eddlem (Ext. 670); Spanish and Portuguese - Mr. Nunes (Ext. 644)

French, Portuguese, and Spanish-The student must be in grade 10 or higher and must be enrolled in the honors level of the respective language with an A- average in the language.  The average will be determined by the previous year’s final grade and the first two terms of the current year.  Induction into the societies is held in the Spring. See Handbook to review rules for maintaining membership.

Open to all students in all grades. No requirement just active participation.   Drop ins welcome!

Meetings will be held twice per month. The day will be announced or contact moderator.

The media club is for students interested in journalism and video production. The club will write about school events and create videos that will help promote Coyle and Cassidy High School.

To learn the court process and enter a team into the Mock Trial Competition sponsored by the Mass Bar Association. We will engage in at least three trials beginning in January at court houses nearby schools. There will be several after school scrimmages prior to the trials.

Mrs. Berard (Ext. 643) and Mr. Larkin (Ext. 659)

Open to any student who enjoys math and would like a challenge. You may attend one or all of the contests.

10/16/12, 11/13/12, 12/11/12, 1/8/13, 2/12/13, 3/13/12 – at 2:00 p.m. in room 201.

The NEML sponsors six contests each year.  The exam takes 30 minutes.  A follow-up session will be offered to review the exams for any student that is interested. This league offers challenging math problems to students of all levels.

Open to all band members and students who already play a band instrument and have strong musical skills.

Rehearsals are held 2 hours prior to all home games. Band camp is held in August (the week before school begins.)

Perform at in-school rallies and home football games.  They serve to build school spirit.

Mrs. Boissonneau (Ext. 649)

To spread awareness about the sanctity of life and foster a culture of life within our school and society; we attempt to carry this out by studying and discussing life issues; catechizing friends; reaching out to those in need; courageously speaking out when the sanctity of life is attacked; and supporting those fighting for the cause of life. We support these issues through prayer culminating with the Washington, D.C. March for Life in January.

Mrs. Mecca (Ext. 648)

Open to all students in all grades, no experience necessary.

Specific dates and times TBA.  Meetings are optional, usually 3-4 days per week for 3 weeks before the competition. Students may attend all or some of the meetings after school, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This year’s competition is Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

This group exists to help students appreciate Shakespeare’s language and characters by learning and performing Shakespearean monologues and sonnets for a school competition in December. Winners in the school competition receive awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and from the English Speaking Union. The winner of the English Speaking Union Award represents the school in a state-wide competition held in January in Boston.

Mrs. Boissonneau (Ext. 649)

Elected positions are by vote.  Any student wishing to run for an elected position must submit paperwork in the Spring.  Elections are in the spring for current students and in October for Freshmen.  The Student Council Board is comprised of elected leadership and class officers.  All students are welcome to help in the execution of any activity.  Contact Mrs. Boissonneau if you would like to volunteer.
