About Us – FindSchoolLunch.com (FSL)

Welcome to FindSchoolLunch.com, or as we like to call it, FSL! We’re delighted that you’ve decided to visit our platform. At FSL, our mission is simple yet impactful: to become your go-to hub for reliable, helpful, and people-first content centered around nutrition in education, school lunch menus, and meal programs across the United States.

Who We Are

FSL is a place where friends come together with one big goal: to find school lunch menus and meal programs easier, make them better and help parents understand what their kids eat at school. We’re a mix of parents, teachers, and even a nutritionist. Many of us got to know each other at Coyle & Cassidy High School and Middle School. The closure of Coyle & Cassidy Schools in 2020 marked not just the end of an era but also the beginning of a new journey for us. As a group of parents and former educators connected to these schools, we’ve seen how vital nutrition and health are in education. These schools were more than educational institutions; they were communities where we learned the importance of healthy, balanced meals for students. This experience laid the foundation for what FSL would become. Now, we’re spread out in different states, which helps us learn even more about school food and health rules all over the U.S.

We all started FSL because we’re parents too, and we know how hard it can be to make sure our kids get good, healthy food in school. When we looked for information, we found bits and pieces everywhere but never the whole story. That’s why we made FindSchoolLunch.com. Our goal is clear and important: to bring together all the important stuff about school lunches, how to teach kids about healthy eating, and the different meal programs schools have. We make it easy by trying to fill those gaps and support parents, students, and educators in making informed decisions about school nutrition.

What We Do

FSL is committed to offering guides and in-depth articles that cover a wide range of topics, from lunch menus to meal program details, for various schools and school districts in all states, with or without providing free school meals. Our aim is to be as detailed as possible, providing parents, guardians, and caregivers everything they need to make informed decisions about their children’s meals.

During this process, from time to time, we might have to use some materials, like school district logos or similar, that do not belong to us, and we explain how and why we use them on our disclaimer page.

For the Community, By the Community

We believe in community. In fact, our platform is built on the idea that sharing valuable information can make life easier for parents and healthier for kids. This includes guiding families through the complexities of school breaks and holidays, when regular meal programs might be on pause. By pooling resources and knowledge on our Blog, we strive to create an informed community of parents who can rely on each other and on FSL for accurate and timely information about these periods. Our insights help parents plan nutritious meals even when schools are closed, ensuring children maintain a healthy diet throughout the year.
