The English Department of Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School explores the wonders of the literary world while making learning enjoyable. We are committed to providing a challenging curriculum that is meaningful to our students and empowers them with the skills they will need to communicate effectively in the 21st century. As English teachers in a Catholic school, we encourage our students to meet the challenge of living life as a follower of Christ.
As science educators we assist students of all ability levels to accomplish the development of scientific literacy skills, critical thinking skills, technical proficiency in laboratory skills, scientific writing skills, respect for life in all of its forms, and an understanding of the dignity of the human person. Our philosophy is to provide students with the conceptual framework, factual knowledge, and analytical skills necessary to deal critically with the rapidly changing field of science.
Social Studies Department
The Social Studies department instructs students from grades 6-12 in history, geography, economics, and psychology. Using a foundation of moral and Catholic values, the department seeks to instill in students a passion for the past, a respect for differences in modern society, and optimism for a future in which they are active participants.
Students will be prepared to use technology as an integral tool in their daily lives. In order to become functional members of a technological society, students must become life-long learners and creative problem solvers. They will be assisted in acquiring these skills by a professional staff that is well prepared to model current technology in a dynamic learning environment.
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” (John 14:6) .The mission of the theology department is to help students develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as well as develop a respect for themselves and those in need. Through classroom experiences, liturgical celebrations, service and retreat programs we strive to help students to strengthen their faith and develop the moral compass necessary as they face the challenges of our ever changing society.Live Your Faith!

Physical Education for Grades 6 & 7
The purpose of physical education is to teach the whole student, not just their body and movement. Physical education provides the opportunity for students to develop lifetime health, fitness, coordination skills, and movement experiences. We believe that physical well-being of students has a direct impact on their ability to achieve academically.
Physical Education goes beyond health and conditioning to also teach students responsibility, attitude, teamwork, sportsmanship, fundamentals, respect, and communication. This class prepares students for our competitive MS & HS Athletics Program.
