To All in our Coyle and Cassidy Family:

As today marks the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, may we pray for all victims of that day and for all our service- men and women who have served our country throughout our history.  May God bless them and their families and may God welcome all those who have passed into His glorious kingdom.  In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Yesterday, on the Feast of St. Nicholas, we held our school prayer service for our Christmas Toy Shop which will be held on Saturday, December 15th.  The generosity of so many is humbling.  Coyle and Cassidy has such a wonderfully authentic tradition and charism of continuing to serve that Christ can be seen in so much of what happens at God’s wonderful school.  In addition to the funds raised to support the ALS One Foundation, which I wrote about in last week’s blog, our students collected over $1,200 to assist with gift purchases for the Toy Shop.  Our students also brought in 1,980 items such as coloring books, crayons, children’s books, and gift-wrapping essentials, all which help our Gift Shop be a reality. As this is my first Coyle and Cassidy Toy Shop experience, my heart is truly grateful to be part of such a service-oriented school dedicated to bringing the love and light of Christ to everyone! At Coyle and Cassidy our students demonstrate each and every day that they – Enter to Learn – Leave to Serve – Change the World One Student at a Time!

Under the direction of Mrs. St. Laurent and Mrs. Gilmore, Director of Technology, we have received some funds to being purchasing equipment for our STREAM Makerspace.  Mrs. Gilmore will begin utilizing the 3D Printer and other equipment with our middle school students.  Also, under the direction of our Athletic Director, Mr. Tom Pileski, utilizing some funds that have been raised, he will begin the renovation of the stage area in the gym in its transition to a wellness center.  We are excited to report this exciting progress in these two important areas as Coyle and Cassidy’s renaissance continues to impact many areas in the school!

As I wrote about recently, we are now launching our dual enrollment partnership with Stonehill College.  Students in our junior and senior classes may begin signing up for the Healthcare Foundations class that will begin at Coyle and Cassidy on January 7th.  We could not be more excited for our students and this exciting new opportunity for them.

Our winter athletic season is here and competitions began for some this week.  May God bless all of our student-athletes and coaches and may they all have a safe and enjoyable season with many successes all for the glory of God.

This past week, Fr. Tom Costa, Pastor of Annunciation of Our Lord parish and Our Lady of Lourdes school in Taunton, experienced a devastating fire in the home of his mother and family members.  Fr. Tom, his family, and all of us are very thankful for the angel who got all family members out of the house before it became completely engulfed in flames.  At Coyle and Cassidy, we will be raising some much-needed funds to help Fr. Tom’s family.  If you are able to consider helping them out, I have included the link to the GoFundMe page set up to help the Costa family.  https://www.gofundme.com/help-the-costa039s-rebuild-after-the-fire

Thanks so much to all the parents and guardians who continue to respond so generously to our 2018-2019 Parent Appeal.  As a reminder, you may contribute via our secure website at www.coylecassidy.com or by mailing in your donation with the coupon included in the email.  Also, for those wishing to break up their donation into a series of payments, you may set that up on our secure website.  May God bless you for your continued, essential support of Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School.

Great job from our Coyle and Cassidy Families responding to the Maguire Associates survey. If you have not done so yet, please do this as soon as possible as it is essential that we obtain as much data as possible from all of you. As of the last update, Coyle and Cassidy has the largest percent of responses from any school in the diocese.  Let’s show everyone how committed we are and get 100% participation!  From our central office” “If you have trouble using your link you may email Sarah Heaton at sheaton@catholicsa.org or Tim Lyon at tlyon@maguireassoc.com for assistance. Please note: The link in your email is only good for one response.” Thanks again for all your help!

May you all have the most wonderful weekend and may you all continue to enjoy the most blessed Advent as we prepare for the birth of our Lord!

In Christ,

Dr. Bernie Audette
