To All in our Coyle and Cassidy Family:

Another busy week and, just like that, the first full week of November is in the books!  The first quarter has closed and the first quarter report cards have been posted to the portal.

This past Wednesday, Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School joined with our sister school, Our Lady Of Lourdes, for a wonderful Mass in celebration of Catholic Schools in Taunton.  Fr. Tom Costa concelebrated with Bishop da Cunha for this very special Mass.  We are all committed to doing this more frequently as a large Catholic school community.  As usual, all students were outstanding and all Mass participants and our music ministry were outstanding and were recognized by the Bishop and many others who attended the Mass.

Along with Mr. Jack O’Brien, our Director of Admissions and Institutional Advancement, this week I met with the Taunton Clergy Association.  This great group of committed religious leaders in the city were very supportive of our school and our mission.  We all intend to work together to collaborate on service initiatives as well as be leaders in social justice issues in all the communities we serve.  Mr. O’Brien and I are working very intently on expanding our Coyle and Cassidy outreach throughout Coyle Country.  If you have any connections you would like to help us make, please reach out to either of us at jobrien@cc.dfrcs.org or baudette@cc.dfrcs.org as we would appreciate any and all assistance.

Mr. O’Brien and I also had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Patrick Murray, Jr., President and CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank and members of his administrative team.  Bristol County Savings Bank has been a wonderful supporter of Coyle and Cassidy and Catholic Education.  We had a great discussion and they were very excited to discuss continued support as well as learn about some of the wonderful and exciting things happening at God’s wonderful school.  We are so blessed to have such wonderfully supportive partners in our community.

Mrs. St. Laurent and I believe we are very close to being able make a joint announcement with Stonehill College regarding the launch of our dual enrollment program.  We are so blessed to be able to work with Stonehill in a number of wonderful ways.  Watch for this joint announcement coming soon!

We also are looking forward to Joe Andruzzi, former member of The NE Patriots, coming to Coyle & Cassidy on November 19th to speak to our students.  This is a wonderful opportunity organized by our Advancement Office for our students to hear from a great NE Patriot and man dedicated to helping others through his very successful charitable foundation.  We are so thankful to Mr. Andruzzi for spending some time with us.

As many have noted appreciation that we did not start the school year with a back to school solicitation for donations, we remain so happy that change was well received.  During this month of November, we will be sending out what will become our annual appeal to parents.  It is our commitment to all of you not to continually solicit donations nor subject you to endless fundraisers or fees for various things at school.  It is our prayerful hope that the shift to this singular approach will prove to be successful and appreciated by most.

Wishing you all the most wonderful Veterans’ Day weekend and may we all remember in prayers of thanksgiving all those who have served to preserve the freedoms and rights not enjoyed by many throughout God’s world!

God Bless,

Dr. Bernie Audette

President
