To All in our Coyle and Cassidy Family:
Happy February! We ended a wonderful Catholic Schools Week today with a wonderful Mass celebrated by our chaplain, Fr. Fred Babiczuk. It is such a blessing to have such a wonderful chaplain as part of our school community!
To me, one of the most special parts of this Catholic Schools Week was to hear the words of our students proclaimed each day regarding what their Catholic School experience has meant to them. Each one of the testimonials that was read was truly touching and reinforced to all of us the importance of providing a thriving Catholic school education to all students who seek one.
I cannot share all the testimonials here, but I will share one that was especially impactful for me. This one stood out because it spoke about service which is such a significant part of who we are at Coyle and Cassidy. This statement also spoke about how living a life of service actually provides more to those doing the service than to those receiving it. May this young lady’s sentiment be one we all share and help spread throughout our world!
Thanks so much to Mrs. Ligia Madeira, who coordinated our book fair during our Catholic Schools Week. As Mrs. Madeira reported, by all accounts this was a great success!
“Our Middle School Book Fair was a great success! Our total sales reached $2,872.00 (which qualified us to receive 50% back in Scholastic dollars).
Here is the breakdown:
Scholastic Dollars Profit Selected:$1436.04
All Scholastic Dollars Reward:$143.60
Previous Account Balance:$0.78
Total Scholastic Dollars available:$1580.42
In addition to surpassing our sales goal, we had a lot of fun. We played some games and awarded lots of prizes. We donated books to the 5th grade classroom library and awarded a prize basket of books and goodies to Mrs. Williams’ class. We were able to stock the next book that will be assigned in the 8th grade ELA class and 27 of the 30 copies we ordered were purchased by our 8th grade families.
Our greatest success is that we helped put hundreds of books in the hands of our students!
We owe a debt of gratitude to the book fair volunteers who gave so generously of their time:
Thanks to all who both ran and shopped at our book fair. It is because of all of you that this event was such a success. Please know that your hard work will sincerely benefit our students!
Thanks to parents, alumni, and friends who continue to support our Parent Appeal and our Annual Appeal. My heart is warm from all the generous gifts that have been steadily received at school. Please know that your donations are essential for the Renaissance of Coyle and Cassidy and that they will help insure that our students receive access to all the programs and tools they should have in order to be well-prepared for their study and work beyond high school. Throughout all of the Christmas events at school, I was personally blessed to meet many alumni who had so many wonderful things to say about how their Coyle and Cassidy education had shaped their lives. It is for this exact reason that we ask for your financial support. All our students deserve an educational experience that is transformative for them personally as well as for their lives going forward. If you have not already donated, please take the time to do that today and help us make a great impact in the lives of all of our students. As a reminder, you may contribute via our secure website at www.coylecassidy.com or by mailing in your donation to the school to Mr. Jack O’Brien, Director of Development, Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School, 2 Hamilton Street, Taunton, MA. 02780. Also, for those wishing to break up their donation into a series of payments, you may set that up on our secure website. May God bless you for your continued, essential support of Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School.
