To All in our Coyle and Cassidy Family:

Happy New Year! This is my first blog of 2019!  I trust that you all had a wonderful time of celebrations and relaxation with your family and friends!

Once returning to school after break, things have been very busy as we are all working toward our mid-term exams next week and the close of the first semester.  We all can’t believe how fast this year has gone with so many exciting and positive things going on at God’s school in Taunton.

This past Tuesday our students taking the dual-enrollment course, Healthcare Foundations, with Stonehill College began their class.  It was so exciting to see our eager students begin their college career right here at Coyle and Cassidy!  We could not be happier to partner with such a great institution such as Stonehill College to provide this amazing opportunity to our students!

Our seniors have been very excited to share all their college acceptances as well as many well-deserved academic financial awards.  More details about these will be forthcoming from Mrs. St. Laurent and our guidance department.  However, I want everyone to know how proud we are of the accomplishments of all of our seniors!!

We continue to work on developing our STREAM Makerspace due to the generous donations of partners who understand the importance of providing this experience to our students.  We have purchased and have installed a 3D printer which has enabled our 5th and 6th grade students to create character prototypes to be used in conjunction with a movie project that they will create. Next week the 3D printer will be used with our 8th grade science classes to produce a 3D brain puzzle as students are studying the brain structure right now. We have also ordered Arduinos, which is a hardware component that students use to build interactive objects and digital devices. Purchases in the near future will include small amplifiers which students will use to amplify the sound of musical instruments they will make using recycled materials. As we continue our fundraising efforts, we will buy electronic components, additional 3D printers, and a laser cutter as well as other consumable STEM supplies.  Mrs. Gilmore is also going to start an after school high school robotics club using equipment that was given to us through a STEM TEN80 conference that high school science classes participated in last fall.  So many exciting things happening on the STREAM front!  Be on the lookout for more information from Mrs. Gilmore, our Director of Technology as she works directly with students to provide hands-on, applied educational experiences for our students using these great new tools.

Thanks to parents, alumni, and friends who continue to support our Parent Appeal and our Annual Appeal.  My heart is warm from all the generous gifts that have been steadily received at school.  Please know that your donations are essential for the Renaissance of Coyle and Cassidy and that they will help insure that our students receive access to all the programs and tools they should have in order to be well-prepared for their study and work beyond high school.  Throughout all of the Christmas events at school, I was personally blessed to meet many alumni who had so many wonderful things to say about how their Coyle and Cassidy education had shaped their lives.  It is for this exact reason that we ask for your financial support.  All our students deserve an educational experience that is transformative for them personally as well as for their lives going forward.  If you have not already donated, please take the time to do that today and help us make a great impact in the lives of all of our students. As a reminder, you may contribute via our secure website at or by mailing in your donation to the school to Mr. Jack O’Brien, Director of Development, Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School, 2 Hamilton Street, Taunton, MA. 02780.  Also, for those wishing to break up their donation into a series of payments, you may set that up on our secure website.  May God bless you for your continued, essential support of Coyle and Cassidy High School and Middle School.

Thanks again to all from our school community who completed the survey sent out by Maguire Associates.  Soon we will be starting to see that data and we will be working with the Catholic Schools Office, Maguire Associates consultants, and the Taunton Catholic Schools Visioning Committee to consider ways to improve and expand our programmatic offerings to our students.  Please know that all of us at Coyle and Cassidy are dedicated to our Mission and continued growth and improvement to best serve all our students.

Congratulations to all winter sports teams for an outstanding start of the season! We have had many exciting competitions between some great teams.  If you have not had the chance to come and support our teams, please check their schedules under our Athletics Tab of the website and plan to come support our Warriors!  You will truly enjoy the energy, spirit, and commitment to excellence that you will experience!

Just a reminder, the Coyle Cassidy Athletic Association is hosting its annual Polar Bear fundraiser on January 26th.  This great group of hardworking parents raises a great deal of money that directly supports all our student athletes in all of our athletic program in very impactful ways.  This group has also been very generous in supporting our school as a whole by helping us support Joe Andruzzi’s visit to our school and to buy the picnic tables used by the members of our senior class.  Using the link below you may purchase tickets to this event through the CCAA PayPal link.  Please support this wonderful event and supportive group that gives so much to Coyle and Cassidy!  Click Here to buy Polar Bear Tickets

In Christ,

Dr. Bernie Audette
